MightyText is an awesome service for Android phone which allows users to Send and Receive text messages (SMS) and MMS from your computer without using the Android phone. If you are a user who sends a large chunk of SMS daily, then this is a perfect app for you. The SMS are send from your phone account, but you can easily type using the PC keyboard. The app uses your mobile number to send SMS, so it is basically like sending SMS from your mobile, but using the PC.
To start using the service, first you need to install the Android app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play store. You need to select the email account which you want to use with the app. Once you complete the set up, it will send an email to your account on how to start using.
You need to authorize the app to use your Gmail account. The app is available as an extension for Google Chrome and Firefox. It can also be accessed as a web app from any browser. Configuration settings are available here. Once you open the web app, you can see all the SMS downloaded from your phone to the PC or rather it is accessible from the browser.
You can compose new messages from the app and sent it to multiple recipients using the browser.
If you're using the Web app, from the Settings area you can set up sync for your Google contacts so the names will pop up automatically and MMS support. The benefits of the app is that you can easily view any SMS or call notifications even if your phone isn't near you and also reply to messages without having to touch your phone.
