Requirements:
- 1. Windows Server 2008 R2
- 2. Windows XP/Windows 7 or any Windows Platform
Windows Server will act as the Terminal Server for CargoWiz Centralized Installation whereas Windows 7 will be the Client machine to access the Terminal Server.
Before Setting up the Terminal Server, a domain controller with a few users needs to be configured.
SETTING UP A DOMAIN CONTROLLER:
- Login the Server 2008 machine as Administrator (Set Admin Password first).
- Assign a static IP to the System
- Run the following command at the command prompt: dcpromo
- Follow the setup as they appear.
- When it reaches to enter domain name, enter CargoWiz.com, click next it will ask you for DNS. Click on Next until you reach the final step of entering a password. Set a strong Password of your own.(Minimum 8 characters)
- After the installation the system will restart and a domain screen will appear at logon. Enter the Admin username and password.
- Open Active Directory Users and Computer to create Users.
SETTING UP A TERMINAL SERVER:
Open the Server Manager and follow the Highlighted Options mentioned screenshots.
In my case the Terminal Services is installed. Click the Terminal Services check mark and click next. Select all services and click install. The System will restart after sometime continuing installation process. Once installed you will see the following Options in Server Manager
ADDING USERS TO REMOTE DESKTOP
Follow the screenshots to allow remote desktop on Terminal Server
Add Users that you want to connect to this Terminal Server Machine.
INSTALLING CargoWiz APPLICATION ON TERMINAL SERVER
Open the Following Application "Install Application on Terminal Server" to install CargoWiz.
Provide Path to the Installation File
Click Next to Install the application.
CONFIGURING CargoWiz APPLICATION TO TERMINAL SERVER
Now Open the below mentioned application to configure CargoWiz application through Terminal Server
Select CargoWiz and click next.
Click Finish.
The remote app is now available to be accessed through Terminal Server Web access.
CREATING .RDP FILE FOR CargoWiz APPLICATION
Select the CargoWiz Application and click the "Create .rdp File"
Provide Path to Save the .rdp file
Navigate to the Installation Directory for the .rdp file and verify.
Copy the file to client machine and double click to start Remote App setup. Provide Credentials for the User or Administrator to Login to Terminal Services.
Enter the IP Address of the Terminal Server
Provide Credentials for the remote desktop user.
After the logon, open the CargoWiz application.
If everything works fine the following window will appear
Enjoy using your application.
NOTE : This Tutorial is configured for a custom application, you can add your own application to Terminal Server once configured correctly.
